– print, design, typography, poster
The goal of this assignment was to create a beautiful poster that effectively communicated the concepts and characteristics of typography in design.
I normally use bright colors in my designs to create interest and excitement, but I wanted to challenge myself in this instance to work without it. I instead utilized a number of fonts that differ in weight and style as well as size to create movement and flow throughout the design. This variation draws your eye around the composition and helps direct you to important headers and transitional points within the design.
The composition is highly structured by the grid and adheres to a strict order of informational hierarchy (the most important things are at the top and less crucial facts are at the bottom). The design is clean, modern and fun, and it effectively communicates the required information and looks good while doing it.
