![]() Colorado River, Grand Canyon Graduate StudentsIf your research interests are similar to mine, and you are interested in working on a thesis (developing a conceptual framework, advancing hypotheses, collecting and statistically analyzing the data), and you will work to publish your research results in a journal, here are some things you should know and some steps you should take. Understand that space is limited and competition can be strong. I generally accept only one new graduate student each year. If you are interested in working with me, I strongly encourage you to do two things: 1) send me an example of your writing and thinking in the form of a 1 to 2 page thesis project pre-proposal, along with a statement of your career goals, why you want to pursue a master’s degree, and a summary of your research-related experience; 2) if at all possible, visit campus and meet with me in person.
