Occasionally I’ll have a research project funded by an agency that a graduate student can work on as a research assistant, receive a monthly stipend, and get his/her thesis out of it. More often than not, however, graduate students will need to be able to finance their own university fees/tuition and living expenses for 2 to 3 years. I’m usually able to help graduate students cover the direct (out of pocket) expenses of their research. If you are coming from an organization or agency who wishes to fund your research, I can put you in touch with the office on campus to make the appropriate contractual arrangements.
