REBECCA DEGAGNE


Having spent time on both sides of the United States, Rebecca Degagne now resides on the Redwood Coast in Arcata, California, where she works as a scientist and an artist. She earned a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and Ecology from Juniata College (PA) in 2003, studying ceramics under noted potter and writer, Jack Troy. Her sculptural ceramics combine traditional firing methods with modern conceptual explorations of humankind's relationship with nature.

She earned her Master of Science degree from Humboldt State University in 2007. Currently, Degagne lectures in the Natural Resources Department at College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA, and teaches Geographic Information Systems at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. Her artwork has been exhibited regionally in Davis, Eureka, and Santa Ana, CA and nationally in Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, Fayetteville, NC, Huntingdon, PA, Lawrence, KS, and St. Charles, MO.
