Reminders:
Methods List. I finally completed the long-promised "Methods for History 420 List" and it is available online at http://users.humboldt.edu/ogayle/hist420/Methods.html. Please make a hard copy of this list and place it in the Portfolio as shown in the course syllabus.
Due dates for the remainder of the semester:
12/8 - Lesson Plan Peer Reviews. This will be your opportunity to fine-tune your lesson plan through working in a group with your peers. The following will be class procedure for the peer reviews:
You will each participate in one of four groups - and each group will include 5 people. Once you get into your groups, you will be doing the following:
Each person will present their lesson plan to their classmates - hook, transition, summary of content, discussion of methods used to teach the content (8-10 minutes)
After each presentation, group members will complete a peer review, ask any questions of the presenter, and conduct a brief discussion about their thoughts on the lesson plan with the presenter. (5 minutes)
When all the presentations are over, group members will :
Give their peer reviews to each presenter.
Each person will read and make any comments on the written peer reviews.
The group will select one of the presenters to explain their lesson plan to the entire class. (5-10 minutes)
Each person will attach their peer reviews to the back of their lesson plan and submit them all when they meet for their final discussion with the professor.
12/11 - University online course evaluation must be completed.
12/12 - Portfolio due - Please take your completed portfolios to the History Department and put them into the box marked "History 420 Portfolios"
12/12-1216 - Final Lesson Plan Discussions to be held with professor.
12/14- History Exit Survey must be completed online
