I have been teaching at HSU for 18 years in both the History and Education departments. Currently, I am an adjunct professor in the History Department where I teach  History 110, History 111, History 420, and History 383, as well as serve as the Advisor to the History Major, Social Science Education Track. To access information about the History Major, Social Science Education Track and the advising role, go to http://users.humboldt.edu/ogayle/SSSEAdvising.html

I also teach in the School of Education - the Social Science Special Methods seminars (SED 741 and 754) - as well as work as a University Supervisor to apprentice teachers working in the local secondary schools.

When not teaching at HSU, I work as a consulting professor for the Northern Humboldt School District's Teaching American History (TAH) grant and the Del Norte County Wild Rivers TAH grant. Part of my responsibility with the Wild Rivers TAH grant is writing, editing, and maintaining a large website "American Indian Issues: An Introductory and Curricular Guide for Educators."
