Description
For this map, I constructed a choropleth map of the Humboldt State University Alumni across the United States. The map started out in Arc Map using data provided from the professor. I had to join a table to a shapefile to be able to normalize the data. Once the data was normalized, I could classify data and create a color scheme to fit the HSU Alumni theme. Once basic map elements were added to the map, the switch to Adobe Illustrator could happen to fix the layout. In adobe, the text tool was used to add additionally information to ascent the map. The size and type of font was changed to make the map easier to read. This map is a fun info graphic about where HSU alumni tend to live their lives. It could be featured in an article in the paper or advertisement for HSU.
