Beer Packaging

Spring 2016

Visual Problem:

To design a beer brand design through packaging. The parameters that were placed, included the assigned subject or topic surrounding the brand by the instructor. As a part of the subject for the beer brand it was assigned to pick and choose your own adjective to go along with the subject. The packaging had to include the title of beer brand, any necessary info about the brewery, general warning and information about beer type and percentage. The design packaging was free and open to any ideas that would fit the subject. The packaging template was given to us by the instructor which included the beer carrier and bottle label.

Solution:

After choosing the subject to fit with the beer brand I automatically knew what and how I wanted the design to look. I chose to go with a rustic and classic feel taking on the Art Deco feel. I identified my audience as older more beer type admirers ones that would appreciate the entire feel of the beer. I chose three pantone colors a gold, black and grey type. When choosing my illustration I went through many versions of my subject in sketch and finally chose as profile view of my subject to capture the richness of the product. For the illustration I designed and drew through Photoshop. I designed the sides and profile view of the beer carrier through Illustrator as well as my beer cap. For the bottle design I shrunk my profile view for the carrier to fit the size of the bottle label.- keywords:packaging, typography
