Spring, 2015
– visual identity, logo design
Description-
Design a logo for a local business that can be used in a variety of ways. The logo needed to be only two colors and it had to work in a black and white version, as well as being recognizable in a very small size. The end goal was to design a set of paper products that could be used. This included an envelope, business card, and stationary. Also, the logo needed to be placed on a product that the company could sell.
Approach-
The local zoo is one of the oldest in California and is beginning to expand with a few new exhibits. The goal of the zoo is to be fun, educational, and community focused. I wanted my logo to display a mixture of these and have a more sophisticated design to reflect their new direction. The two colors I chose allowed for it to be fun, but still official. I chose to use the silhouettes of an eagle, cougar, otter, and salmon since they are the newest animals that are planned to be added to the zoo.
