Design Problem
Construct a website using Adobe Dreamweaver for a late 20th or 21st century graphic designer. The website should be three to four pages, including information about the designer, the designers work, and further reading. Be sure to make the website aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate.
Design Solution
The graphic designer I was assigned was Paul Rand. Many of the logos he created are still used today and widely known, such as UPS and ABC. All of the logos he has created he has stuck with the most simple design, so I wanted to reflect that in the simplicity of the website design.
I used a basic blue background throughout the site. I decided to do a four page site, Home, About, Works, and Further Reading. I wanted a home page to help the reader ease into the information on the site rather than just jumping in to about the designer. On the homepage they can choose whether they want to go to About the Designer or About the Works. Each of the pages are broken into one or two columns to make it easy to read. Every section has a clearly different title to signal to the reader that it is a different section. I also created the consistent header using a variety of Rands most well known logos, to create a unified look between the four pages.
