About Me

My name is Jason McMack and I am an Enviornmental Resource Engineering major at Humboldt State Univserity. I transfered to HSU in the fall of 2013 from San Diego, California. I always had a love of the natural world and mechanical things. This led me to swtich back and forth between biology and mechcanical engineering as a major until I found the ERE program offered at HSU. It seems to perfectly combine my interest in the natural world, as well as my need to create things for the greater good. I do not yet know which specific field in the ERE I wish to persue but am eager to learn about all I can about the the field. Growing up in San Diego I spent a lot of time in the ocean and am very interested to learn on how we as humans can try to harness the energy of the ocean in order to make sustainable clean energy for the world. I am trying to fit in my old hobbies of surfing and spear fishing with my new enviornment here in Humboldt County. I look forward to spending time hiking and backpacking in the woods and exploring the surrdouning areas. I also have a great interest in cars and internal combustion engines and would love to learn how to make those more efficient and better for the enviornment.
