I am an Environmental Resources Engineering undergraduate student at Humboldt State University. I transferred to HSU in the Fall of 2007. Before moving to Arcata I lived in Los Angeles, CA. I worked at a fine-dining restaurant in Brea called Taps Fishhouse and Brewery for two years before moving here. During this time I also attended community college at Los Angeles Harbor College and Fullerton Community College.

Sample Work

I have written many memos in my Engineering classes at HSU, and in my business classes at Los Angeles Harbor College. Here is one of the memos I have written.

In my Introduction to Engineering class at HSU, I created an Appropedia user page. In this class, I was also part of a group that measured the indoor air exchange rates in one of the study rooms in the library on campus. Five of us did jumping jacks and ran in place to create a high concentration of Carbon Dioxide in the room, then we left the room. We were able to calculate the air exchange rate by using the data collected in the room after we left. I created a spreadsheet to use this data to find the air exchange rate in the room and the recommended room capacity according to ASHRAE.

I also created a website in my Introduction to Engineering class. The class worked together to create the Arcata Wastewater Treatment Plant and Marsh website. I chose to do the section on digesters, because I found it to be interesting. Here is the link to my section of the website. I created all of the pages linked to the digester section (Introduction, The Process, Anaerobic Digestion, Sludge Treatment, and References).

In Introduction to Design at HSU, I was part of a team that worked on a semester-long design project. We named our team Goobers and our design Multiplicity. For more information about Multiplicity, please see the Appropedia page that our team created. Here is the link to the Gantt Chart, which we used to keep ourselves organized. Our completed project included our design document, which my group and I created together. In this class I also learned to use AutoCAD. Here is the link to the CAD drawings that I created of Multiplicity.
