Frame your topic in a way that relates to their lives.
Point out why your topic is relevant or even important to them
- This is especially important if you fear the audience might see your topic as potentially trivial.
Point out how you think your topic is significant

+ =	PROBLEMATIC	You should go further in directly relating your topic to the lives of your audience. How does it affect them? Why should they listen? This is very important with persuasive speaking.
