All of your classmates realize that your speech is more than a speech, it is a research project.

We expect that you will bring a lot of external sources to your speech.

Give us a clear and concise overview of your research on the topic.
- Saying, "I've done a lot of research in the Library..." is not sufficient.
- State your best sources of information.
- Let us know if you've done an interview.
Give us the impression that your research has been deep, thorough, and academically rigorous
This can be done in a sentence or two

! =	SUPERIOR	You gave the impression that you have done solid and thorough research on your topic and that much of it was from scholarly or academic sources.
+ =	EFFECTIVE	You made the impression that your research was good.
+ =	PROBLEMATIC	Our impression was that you may not have researched your topic deeply enough in an academically rigorous manner.
– =	DETRIMENTAL	It did not seem that you had really researched your topic as expected by the assignment.
EXPØRES	EXPERIENCE NOT RESEARCH	You related your personal experience with the topic, which is good, but we need to also know the depth of your research for better credibility.
WEB RELI	WWW RELIANCE	You relied on World Wide Web sites too much. While researching on the web is easy, you must carefully evaluate what you fined there and who is providing the information. For better credibility, use a wider variety of supporting material gathered from books, journals, interviews, writing away and web research.
