Proper labelling on your preparation outline

Your preparation outline needs to follow a strict format.

Header section needs to declare the specific purpose, central idea, and organizational pattern
Introduction, body and conclusion need to be clearly labelled.
Transitions need to be identified and break the hierarchy.

Note	Symbol Key:	Interpretation
! =	SUPERIOR	Your preparation outline was clear and complete.
+ =	EFFECTIVE	All required parts of the preparation outline were in place
+ =	PROBLEMATIC	You need to include all this on your preparation outline: a Specific Purpose, Central Idea, Organizational Pattern, followed by Introduction, Body and Conclusion. You left out too many labels.
– =	DETRIMENTAL	You did not label your preparation outline correctly; review Chapter 10.
Ø =	MISSING	You did not hand in a preparation outline; preparation outlines are not accepted late.
ORGPAT	DECLARE ORGANIZATIONAL PATTERN	It is a requirement in my class that you declare your organizational pattern in the header section of your preparation outline.
