The preparation outline for this round was worth 30 points if you followed the "formula" explained in Chapter 10 and expounded on in class. The assignment page stipulated the following:
A clear and complete preparation outline and bibliography are required. The outline must include the Specific Purpose, Central Idea, and Organizational Pattern along with all the other elements accurately phrased and arranged, including what organizational method you've employed; avoid topical arrangement of your main points. Be neat, clear, and succinct. Follow the format as presented in your text on pages 260-262. Label and correctly format the introduction, body, conclusion, and all transitions, summaries, and internal previews.
If you received less than 22 points, you really should review proper preparation outline formatting before the persuasive round.

Preparation outline needs more work to be in the proper format. |
| "brief" or "spkout" | Your preparation was way too brief; it was more of a speaking outline. Remember, the preparation is your speech in its entirety; don't stint. | |

MISSING | No preparation outline was submitted. Sorry, but preparation outlines are not accepted late. They are to help you prepare your speech and I use them when grading your speech. They are of little value after the fact. |
