Joe Cooney is an Environmental Resources Engineering Major at Humboldt State University, focusing on water resources. He is from Southern California and has spent extensive time in Baja California, Mexico, where he became interested in freshwater and wastewater systems after seeing the discrepency between what is commonly available in the United States versus that of less developed areas of the world. He enjoys the outdoors, fishing, and classic automobiles.
Joe spent the summer of 2013 working at Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine near Philipsburg Montana. He has extensive mechanical and design experience, and started his career working at Hubbs-Sea World Research Institute in Carlsbad, California.
