REMARK: You must read the text. I will not be able to do examples of every type of problem in class. As you read the text, you will note the author expects you to work several exercises during the reading. These exercises are accompanied by a graphic "pencil" and a command like NOW WORK PROBLEM 1 (see page 3 for example).

Work all these "pencil" problems on scratch paper as you read the relevant section. Then transcribe them neatly and completely onto green engineering paper and hand them in, according to the following schedule. Multiple pages should be stapled. I will grade some of these and hand them back to you. Keep them in a binder or folder, along with all your quizzes, and any other work you do during the course. I will ask you to hand these in at the end of the term.

In addition, we have assignments that will be graded on HSU's Blackboard. They appear in the schedule below. Do these problems on scratch paper, then type answers in on Blackboard by the due date indicated.
