My approach to teaching and research is problem-oriented and interdisciplinary. For the Environmental Management and Protection major, I teach courses in environmental and natural resources policy and regulation, planning methods, planning in public agencies, hazard management, and ecosystem analysis. My students are frequently involved in service learning projects in our local community. Some recent examples are listed under the senior planning projects below. I work with graduate students in the Natural Resources and in the Environment and Community Master’s program.
