I am interested in questions of socio-ecological sustainability and resilience and the conservation of ecosystems that are the basis of life on earth. My research focuses in applied forest and landscape ecology, agroforestry, and collaborative land use planning on public and private lands. Recent work focuses on forest garden agroforestry systems and community based forest, fire and hazard management.
