Mathematics 280 - Mathematical Computing

Computer Programs

The following computer programs may be helpful in this course.

Matlab - A numerical computation programming environment. We will use this software for the bulk of the class. A student version is available from the bookstore at a discounted rate.
Mathematica - A symbolic computing environment that can greatly simplify calculations. We will use this software as well. For info on Mathematica at HSU see: http://www.humboldt. edu/~cnrsitc/mathematica.
LaTeX - A typesetting language. An excellent source of info on LaTeX is the LaTeX wikibook.
