My name is Chris Bautista and I am a student at Humboldt State University Majoring in Environmental Resources Engineering. I was born in Gardena, CA and raised in the Los Angeles port town of Wilmington, CA. For all of my upbringing I attended school in San Pedro, CA and Graduated with a 3.0 GPA from San Pedro High School in 2014. While in high school, I began attending the Boys and Girls Club of San Pedro.
This proved to be one of the best decisions in my high school career, as "The Club" played a huge role in getting me to Humboldt State and keeping me off the streets. Had it not been for Boys and Girls Club's Daily free tutoring, special program Collegebound, Where college geared workshops were held weekly, and the gym, I likely would never have applied for or even thought about college. My main after school activities were attending tutoring at "The Club", participating in one of the many other activities offered at the Boys and Girls Club, and going to LA fitness for the remainder of the evening. My Interest in Environmental Engineering and Humboldt in general stems from my principles of respect, justice/morality, and appreciation of nature.
