About Me
It was Latin, not gibberish. I'm 22, I was born in San Francisco, moved to Chico at 4, and lived there until '07. I had a great time growing up. I spent a lot of time in the outdoors, and played a wide variety of sports. My youth was primarily spent between soccer and gymnastics (10 years each), and in high school I played volleyball for three years, and did ski and swim team each for a year. When I graduated I moved to UC Merced and played volleyball there. I was there for two and a half years, and then moved back to Chico and went to Butte College for another 3 semesters, where I took up track and field, finding pole vault as a natural fit. I'm now at HSU, playing volleyball and looking forward to DII track in the spring. I'm very interested in renewable energy research, and hope to get the chance to have a net positive effect on my environment throughout my life and help others do the same.
Work Experience
I've worked for my dad's construction company - Bill Kurnizki Construction off and on for many years. I've done everything from selling apples at the local farmers market, to building a preschool foundation as a volunteer in Nicaragua, to an internship doing Search and Rescue for a summer in Yosemite National Park where I gave a speech to park staff on the importance of water filtration. I also worked for Hollister Co. as a model last winter break, but I don't like to talk about that.
