I am a student at Humboldt State University studying Environmental Resources Engineering. I am in the Klamath Connection program at HSU, which has allowed me to explore my career field more in depth. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Engineering, but recently became passionate about the environment. I have always enjoyed the beauty of nature, but ever since the recent drought in California, I became more interested in environmental issues. I took two engineering classes in high school, which developed my passion for problem solving. In my second year of engineering, our task was to build a trebuchet and after we tested them to see who's went farthest and who's had the best accuracy. My trebuchet actually broke the record for distance and also was the only one to be able to launch the tennis ball into the bucket which was the aim target. This made me realize that engineering was definitely a career path that I wanted to pursue.
